Join us in a challenge to raise money for RIP Medical Debt!
Updated: Aug 7
A non-profit which erases Medical Debt for those who qualify.

The Merrimack Association challenges you to join us in supporting the reduction of medical debt, a real problem in the United States. RIP Medical Debt is a non-profit which buys up medical debt on the secondary market, and forgives the debt to qualifying individuals, while also erasing this financial burden from their credit history.
Part of what has motivated the Merrimack Association to do this is the incredible return on our investment. $1 reduces $100 worth of debt, a $20 contribution erases $2,000.
Here are some resources for you to explore RIP Medical Debt, which has received a 100% score from Charity Navigator.
The Merrimack Association will be collecting donations until the October 1 Fall Association meeting. Other Associations can accept this as a challenge, or individuals and churches can simply add to the Merrimack Association efforts.
We have already received a $2,000 grant from one church (meaning $200,000 medical debt will be forgiven with this one gift), and commitments from other churches. You can raise money in whatever way is appropriate - from church budgets, individuals, car washes, or at a table at your town farmer’s market. Every contribution will make an impact!
There will be 3 prizes awarded to the churches who have raised the most money: 1st Place - a free guest preacher 2nd Place - a fun community building event tailored to your church 3rd Place - Coffee hour treats provided for one Sunday. Deadline - October 1, 2023 Please send any contributions in Checks made out to the Merrimack Association, with RIP in the Memo line. Send them to 22 S Spring Street in Concord, NH 03301.
